KINGDOM PERSPECTIVE 1.1
"...and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus." (Acts 17:7)
Remember, our citizenship is in the Kingdom of God. Our loyalty first and foremost belongs to Him no matter how difficult it becomes to walk on the "straight and narrow path." We cannot say we love Him and not obey Him. We cannot "serve two masters." "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Ro. 12:2).
May Christ take preeminence in your hearts, decisions and actions this week.
KINGDOM PERSPECTIVE 1.2
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” (Col. 1:13)
I want to bring your attention to the word “translated.” When we get “born again” we have been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of light. All the “potential” of our lives was purchased at the cross of Christ. I believe the way to maximize our potential as Kingdom citizens is through “total surrender” to Ya’shua as King. KNOW who you are in Christ and KEEP a Kingdom mindset to OVERCOME all the powers of darkness! Remember, you are seated in heavenly places “far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named…” (Ephesians 1:21).
Be thou delivered! Be thou free! Keep the King of glory before your eyes in worship and adoration this week. He is worthy.
KINGDOM PERSPECTIVE 1.3
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight… (John 18:36)
What Christ is saying here is the Kingdom of God is not after the order of men-kings that control their subjects by the sword. His Kingdom is not of this world (kosmos: orderly arrangement - …constitution, order, government).
Please take note, He did not say it is not functioning or is not present now. It’s of a different “order.” He is a different kind of King who rules with love, righteousness and justice in the hearts of His citizens. He has set up His Kingdom to function through loving COVENANT relationships holding sacred the perfect law of liberty (freedom, power of choice). The foundational principles of His government are faith, hope, love and charity. As His ministers (bond-servants, administrators) function in this manner a sense of great destiny engulfs their hearts—all to bring glory of our King.
Also, principally in His Kingdom, we must not “lord over” or control anyone (Lk. 22:24-29). We have godly influence as we lead by a righteous example. Remember, it is ultimately the Holy Spirit who regenerates the hearts of men. Do as our King said, “I did not come to be served but to serve.” It’s the power of the towel. He laid His life down so shall we. I believe this is one of the keys of true leadership needed today. We should not be about building our kingdoms where "our subjects" serve us but building HIS KINGDOM where we serve Him by serving one another.
When we are yielded to the King within, our life-flow is untainted by selfish objectives as we daily advance His kingdom “at hand.”
I believe we need to be delivered from self-preservation and pour out our lives like a “drink offering” to be effective in this “wicked and perverse generation.” A dangerous people to the kingdom of darkness are those that are recklessly abandoned to the Kingdom of God!
Be filled with Kingdom power and glory this week.
KINGDOM PERSPECTIVE 1.4
“THE TIME IS FULFILLED, AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND: REPENT YE, AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL.” (Mark 1:15)
Jesus paid the price and said, “it is finished!” THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND (NOW)! If we really believe it, it demands change or repentance in our personal, family, church, work, and social lives. Why? Because the Kingdom means THE KING’S DOMAIN, we belong to Him and no other. Our King “is a jealous God.” We cannot “serve two masters.”
Let me put it in perspective—mixture would be like sharing our spouse with someone else! God forbid! It’s unacceptable no matter how infrequent it is.
The citizens of the Kingdom strive to live a sanctified life WHOLLY CONSECRATED unto their King. I always want to be careful to mention it is ONLY by His grace and yielding to the Regenerating Spirit that we are able to accomplish this. Hallelujah!
“…That they also might be sanctified through the truth.”(John 17:18-19)
If we really believe the Kingdom of Heaven is “within us” and is “at hand,” lets live our lives with maximum impact! As holy Ambassadors for Christ wherever we go we bring the Kingdom – PHYSICALLY. Where we show up there He is.
We are the “friends of God.” He shares His heart with us. As we yield to His Spirit we are the visible demonstration of His kingdom wherever we go. Therefore, heal the sick, cast out devils, raise the dead, feed the hungry, sacrificially give and heal the broken hearted. There are no boundaries or situations limiting you in the Kingdom of Heaven.
